Blue remains an incomplete entry for itch.io's 2016 Game by its Cover game jam, which gave entrants a little over a month to develop a game inspired by a Famicase. I chose Matt Kenyon's beautiful "Blue" cartridge, resulting in a sidescrolling motorcycle shoot-em-up that, while also inspired by thematic elements of eighties science fiction films such as Akira and Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China, remains themed around Matt's design. Production was delayed once Dopesmoker gained some unexpected attention, so I'm considering it on hiatus as opposed to an incomplete game jam attempt.

Bossman Doggroth of the First Level of Gwylenhythe Heights was completed in 48 hours for the Game Maker subreddit's 19th GM48 game jam, which requires entrants to complete a game in 48 hours with YoYo Games' Game Maker software. The theme, which is assigned at the start of the 48 hour period, was "Only One Level." Download and live in the skin of Bossman Doggroth as he bravely defends the first level of Gwylenhythe Heights here. I plan to someday reproduce this one as a first person (hell, maybe even VR) game with a horrifyingly loud dubstep soundtrack.
